He serves Amiruddaula Islamia College as the Head of its department of History. Mr. Malikzada is also one of the editors of the two-decade-old prestigious Urdu literary journal Imkan, founded by his late father, the world famous Urdu poet, scholar, and mushaira compere Professor Malikzada Manzoor Ahmad. He also administers one of the largest Urdu literary groups on Facebook, Bazm-e-Imkan. He is well known for his eloquence, articulateness, and the lucidity of his language, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of Urdu literary history and culture, specifically that of Lucknow.
